Clash and Converge Ketubah
Based on the number 7, an historically auspicious number. Made with collaged one of a kind art papers, screen printed, painted, and paper cut techniques by hand.
Supportive Hands Ketubah
Supportive hands is a design that represents the wholeness of all things. The ketubah text is nested between supportive hands, giving the piece its title.
Digital collage printed in archival inks on Somerset cotton paper.
More about the origins of this design:
In Kabbalah, the number one conveys unity, agreement, and simplicity. Like breathing, it comes naturally and without even thinking. All life forms are made up from the same biological material that unites us on a cellular level. We are many and one at the same time. The tree formed here is one organism formed by two separate root systems.
Two symbolizes duality, tension and complexity, and signifies plurality. It is key to remember that when we unite in community, we are closer to wholeness. The support of community is essential to support the home a couple builds as partners in life.

Indigo Moon
Interpretations of "Indigo Moon". All of the elements in the following explanation have to do with the actual process of working with Indigo natural dyes:
WATER | EARTH | FLORA
WATER
Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, explains that water and liquids enact three key mannerisms:
1) Adhering 2) Conveying 3) Fluidity
Water is an adhesive that transforms: dirt becomes a clay pot and flour becomes bread. Water binds that which was many into a cohesive whole.
Water is a conveyer: rivers and streams carry life and hold ecosystems and supply oceans and larger bodies of water. Likewise, blood carries nutrients and fluids that travel throughout our bodies to keep us alive and healthy.
Water symbolizes flexibility and fluidity allowing it to dwell in the most simple of spaces. One who is like water can apply the most sublime interpretations to even the most mundane instances of everyday life.
EARTH
Singularity and simplicity. A circle represents the cycle of life, the concept of eternity, and resilience in the human spirit. It represents wholeness, and evokes the number One.
FLORA
Indigo is a plant that produces a deep blue pigment and has been used to mark lifecycle events throughout time and across cultures. It represents the cycle of life and serves as a reminder that this moment is connected to every other moment. Even as we celebrate the union of marriage, we are connected simultaneously to birth, mourning, and the entirety of human experience.
Shifting Perspectives Ketubah
Your lives will change, you will build one tapestry from many different paths. Some of those paths are yours together, some of those paths belong to one of you. No matter where you turn or what you see, together you are creating a life woven together and united into a composition defined by trust and love.
The Seven Species were known as the staple foods consumed by the Jewish people in the land of Israel during biblical times. They are presented here in a geometric layout, interrupted by a flowing stream. Inspired by imagery taken from the Middle Eastern landscape and painting of the late Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.
